Branding and your own domain

In short

You can set the colour, fonts, logos and images of your portal, and give it your own web address. Both are built but not yet switched on for agencies. They work once your portal has them switched on.

Checked on

Buyers see only your agency in the portal. They never see the name or the style of Tesoro.

Status. Both parts on this page are built in the portal. They are not yet switched on for agencies. They are available once your portal has them switched on. Until then, your portal keeps the style that Tesoro support set for it, and it uses the address that you have now.

The CRM gets a settings tab named Portal branding. In it you set the style of your portal. The portal reads these values from the CRM. You can set:

Setting What it does
Brand colour The main colour of the portal
Tone The mood of the neutral colours: cool, neutral or warm
Heading font One of six fonts: Inter, Montserrat, Manrope, Noto Serif Display, Playfair Display or Lora
Radius How round the corners are: sharp, soft or round
Tinted neutrals Whether the neutral colours get a light tint of your brand colour
Logos One logo for a light background and one for a dark background
App icon The icon on the home screen when a buyer installs the portal as an app
Sign-in photo The photo on the sign-in page
  • The portal keeps text readable. If white text on your brand colour is too hard to read, the portal makes the colour darker. The hue stays the same.
  • The portal uses only the six fonts of the list. A font that is not on the list is ignored.
  • A value that is not valid is ignored. The portal then keeps the earlier style for that one setting.

A change in the CRM shows in the portal after about 7 minutes.

The CRM tab and the CRM fields are not ready yet. Your portal can use these values only after that work is done and your portal has the option switched on.

Your portal can run on a web address of your own, such as portal.example.com.

Status. The portal side is built. It is available once your portal has it switched on. The CRM screen for it is not built yet. Until the screen is ready, ask your contact person at Tesoro to set up a domain.

  • Use a subdomain, such as portal.example.com. A domain without a prefix, such as example.com, is not possible.
  • Only an administrator of your agency will be able to set the domain.

The CRM screen is not built yet. When it is ready, it will work in these steps:

  1. An administrator enters the subdomain that you want.
  2. The CRM shows two DNS records. You add both at the company where you manage your domain.
  3. The first record is a CNAME record. It points your subdomain to the portal.
  4. The second record is a TXT record. It proves that the domain is yours. The portal gives each request its own text for this record.
  5. The portal checks the records on its own. When both records are found and the security certificate is ready, the portal activates your domain.

A change in DNS can take up to an hour. If the records are not found in 7 days, the request ends. You can then start again.

Until the screen is ready, Tesoro gives you the two records after you ask for a domain. The records and the checks are the same.

  • The portal answers on your domain. The old address with the name of your agency sends buyers on to your domain.
  • Buyers sign in on your domain. A buyer who signed in on the old address must sign in again on your domain.
  • Keep both DNS records in place. If you remove the CNAME record, the portal ends your domain after two daily checks. Buyers then use the address with the name of your agency.

When you change or remove your domain, the old domain stops at once. There is no period in which it still sends buyers on. Links in older e-mails that use the old domain stop working. Buyers then use the address with the name of your agency.

A domain is active only when the portal finds that text in your DNS and the certificate is ready. A second agency cannot take your domain without control of your DNS.
